List of 16 Pakistani Climbers | 5 x 8000ers

There are a total of 14 8000ers in the world, of which 7 are in Nepal, 2 are in Tibet, and 5 are in Pakistan. These mountains have a long history of international climbers, but despite the patronage of five 8000ers, dozens of 7000ers and 6000ers, we have failed to give our Pakistani climbers the place they deserve, like the Nepali Sherpaz, the porters of Shimshal, Sadpara and Hoshe etc in the northern regions of Pakistan are also considered among the best porters in the world, and in our today’s video, we are including the achievements of those Pakistani climbers, who have summited all 5 mountains higher than 8000 meters in Pakistan.

1. Rajab Shah (Late)

Rajab Shah (late) belongs to Shimshal Valley located in Tehsil Gojal of District Hunza, Gilgit-Baltistan. He started his climbing career in 1989 with the summit of Nanga Parbat. Rajab Shah summited Gasherbrum-I twice in 1990 and 1992. He summited Broad Peak in 1993, K2 in 1995, and Gasherbrum-II in 1998. Rajab Shah was honored with the Pride of Performance Award by the Government of Pakistan for becoming the 1st Pakistani to complete all 5 8000ers summits in 1998.

2. Hassan Sadpara

Hassan Sadpara belongs to Sadpara village in Skardu district of Gilgit-Baltistan. He did the Nanga Parbat summit in 1999. Hassan Sadpara summited K2 in 2004, Gasherbrum-I and Gasherbrum-II in 2006, and Broad Peak in 2007. Hassan Sadpara was honored with the Pride of Performance Award by the Government of Pakistan for becoming the 2nd Pakistani to complete all 5 8000ers summits in 2007.

3. Nisar Hussain Sadpara

Nisar Hussain Sadpara belongs to Sadpara village in Skardu district of Gilgit-Baltistan.

He summited Gasherbrum-II 4 times in 1999, 2003, 2006 and 2011, while Gasherbrum-I was climbed thrice in 2003, 2006 and 2007. Apart from this, Nisar Hussain summited Broad Peak in 2000, K2 in 2004, and Nanga Parbat in 2008. Nisar Hussain Sadpara climbed the five 8000ers in Pakistan a total of 10 times. Nisar Hussain Sadpara was the 3rd Pakistani to complete all five 8000ers summits, and was also awarded the Pride of Performance Award by the Government of Pakistan in 2012.

4. Sadiq Sadpara

Sadiq Sadpara belongs to Sadpara village in Skardu district of Gilgit-Baltistan. He summited Gasherbrum-I twice in 1999 and 2006, while Gasherbrum-II was summited 6 times in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2006 and 2022. In addition, Sadiq Sidpara climbed Broad Peak twice in 2004 and 2007, summited Nanga Parbat in 2009 and summited K2 in 2014. The unique aspect of Sadiq Sidpara’s climbing career was that he summited both G1 and G2 in just 5 days in 2006. He has summited the five 8000ers in Pakistan a total of 12 times. On July 21, 2022, an Afghan climber, Ali Akbar Sakhi, died near Camp 3 of K2. Sadiq Sadpara was also a member of the team that rescued his body, and before this rescue mission, no climber’s body had been recovered from  K2, the world’s second-highest mountain.

5. Hassan Jan

Hassan Jan belongs to Hushe, the last village of Ganche District in Gilgit-Baltistan.

He summited Gasherbrum-II in 2002, Broad Peak 3 times in 2003, 2007 and 2013,

Nanga Parbat twice in 2005 and 2009, Gasherbrum-I twice in 2011 and 2021, and K2 in 2014. Hassan Jan has climbed 5 8000ers in Pakistan a total of 9 times, without O2 i.e. supplemental oxygen.

6. Ghulam Mehdi

Ghulam Mehdi belongs to Hushe, the last village in Ganche District of Gilgit-Baltistan.

He summited Gasherbrum-I in 2003, and also Gasherbrum-II in the same year i.e. 2003.

Apart from this, Ghulam Mehdi summited Nanga Parbat in 2006 and 2009,

Broad Peak in 2007 and 2013 and K2 in 2014. Ghulam Mehdi has climbed all five 8000ers in Pakistan without O2 i.e. supplemental oxygen.

7. Aminullah Baig

Aminullah Baig belongs to Shimshal Valley in Gojal Tehsil of Hunza District of Gilgit-Baltistan. He summited Gasherbrum-II in 2000, Gasherbrum-I in 2004, Nanga Parbat in 2009, K2 in 2014 and Broad Peak in 2017. Aminullah Baig has climbed all five 8000ers in Pakistan without O2 i.e. supplemental oxygen.

8. Muhammad Ali Sadpara (late)

Muhammad Ali Sadpara (late) belonged to Sadpara village in Skardu district of Gilgit-Baltistan. He summited Gasherbrum-II in 2006, while he summited the killer mountain Nanga Parbat 4 times in 2008, 2009, 2016 and 2017, including the winter summit, hence Ali Sadpara is also known as the King of Nanga Parbat in Pakistan.

In addition, Ali Sadpara summited Gasherbrum-I in 2010, Broad Peak in 2017, and K2 in 2018. Ali Sadpara summited the 5 8000ers in Pakistan 8 times, without O2 i.e. supplemental oxygen. On 18th February 2021, he died near the Bottleneck during the K2 Winter Attempt. Ali Sadpara was also honored with the Pride of Performance Award by the Government of Pakistan in 2022.

9. Imtiaz Ali

Imtiaz Ali Sadpara belongs to Sadpara village in Skardu district of Gilgit-Baltistan.

He climbed Broad Peak twice in 2017 and 2021. Apart from this, Imtiaz Ali Sidpara climbed K2 in 2018, Nanga Parbat twice in 2022 and 2023, and Gasherbrum-II and Gasherbrum-I in 2022. Imtiaz Ali Sadpara has climbed all five 8000ers in Pakistan without O2 i.e. supplemental oxygen.

10. Sirbaz Khan

Sirbaz Khan belongs to the beautiful Hunza Valley surrounded by towering peaks in Hunza district of Gilgit-Baltistan.

He summited Nanga Parbat in 2017, and K2 twice in 2018 and 2022, besides Sirbaz Khan summited Broad Peak in 2019, Gasherbrum-II in 2021, and Gasherbrum-I in 2022.

11. Shehroze Kashif

Shehroze Kashif belongs to Lahore city of the Punjab province.

He summited Broad Peak in 2019, K2 in 2021, Nanga Parbat in 2022, Gasherbrum-I and Gasherbrum-II. Shehroze Kashif is one of the youngest climbers of Pakistan. He was honored with the Pride of Performance Award by the Government of Pakistan in 2024.

12. Yusaf Ali

Yusaf Ali belongs to Hushe, the last village in Ganche District of Gilgit-Baltistan.

He summited Gasherbrum-I twice in 2003 and 2023, and summited Gasherbrum-II in 2006. Yusaf Ali climbed Broad Peak 3 times in 2007, 2017, and 2021. He summited K2 in 2019, and Nanga Parbat in 2023. Yusaf Ali has climbed the 5 8000ers in Pakistan a total of 8 times, without O2 i.e. supplemental oxygen.

13. Sajid Ali Sadpara

Sajid Ali Sadpara belongs to Sadpara village in Skardu district of Gilgit-Baltistan. He is the son of late Pakistani legend climber Mohammad Ali Sadpara.

Sajid Ali Sadpara climbed K2 twice in 2019 and 2021. Apart from this, Sajid Ali Sidpara summited Gasherbrum-I and Gasherbrum-II in 2022, Nanga Parbat and Broad Peak in 2023.

14. Ali Durrani

Ali Durrani belongs to Hushe, the last village in Ganche District of Gilgit-Baltistan.

He climbed Broad Peak in 2013, summited K2 twice in 2014 and 2021, and Gasherbrum-II twice in 2019 and 2023. Ali Durrani climbed Nanga Parbat and Gasherbrum-I in 2023. He has climbed the 5 8000ers in Pakistan without O2 i.e. supplemental oxygen.

15. Naila kiani

Naila Kiani belongs to Rawalpindi city of Punjab province.

She summited Gasherbrum-II in 2021, while K2 and Gasherbrum-I in 2022,

Naila Kiani summited Nanga Parbat and Broad Peak in 2023. Naila Kayani is the first and only Pakistani female mountaineer who has climbed all five 8000ers in Pakistan. She was honored with the Pride of Performance Award by the Government of Pakistan in 2024.

16. Ghulam Abbas

Ghulam Abbas belongs to Hushe, the last village in Ganche District of Gilgit-Baltistan.

He summited Broad Peak in 2009, and K2 in 2022. While Ghulam Abbas summited Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum-I and Gasherbrum-II in 2023. He has climbed the 5 8000ers in Pakistan without O2 i.e. supplemental oxygen.
